The surname has since been released and a case is being prepared for the DPP.

The anonymous celebrity is well known in showbiz circles here and abroad and his career in the spotlight spans decades.

The shocking news of the celebrity’s arrest broke late last night.

A garda spokesman told the Irish Sun: “Gardaí investigating productions of a fake instrument in May 2021 yesterday arrested a man in his 40s.

“He has since been released without charge with a case being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. »

Using a fraudulent certificate is an offense under the Criminal Justice (Offences of Theft and Fraud) Act 2001, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years.

Offenders can also be guilty of a separate, recently introduced offense of using a false Covid certificate, which is punishable by a fine of up to €2,000.

EU vaccine certificates came into effect last summer and they were a condition of entry into hospitality establishments, such as pubs, restaurants, cafes or food courts.

The need for a vaccine certificate to enter hospitality was removed with the government’s most recent lifting of Covid-19 restrictions – but they are still a requirement for international travel.

Separately, late last year it emerged that fake vaccine certificates were being sold on the dark web for up to €350 each.

It’s an under-the-radar book by John Steinbeck. “An American in New York and Paris”, published in 1956 by Julliard, has never been republished in French – or in English. It is not part of the “Library of America” edition (the equivalent of La Pléiade) in four volumes. This yellowed volume, the pages of which peel on reading, embellished with mediocre caricatures, which was worth 390 francs at the time, and which one sometimes finds in the boxes of booksellers, is a rarity. This is a collection of articles commissioned by newspapers, haphazardly from the wanderings of the author of the “Grapes of Wrath”, now famous for his loudmouth character and herald of the forgotten. He did reports during the war, traveled to Indochina, worked with Elia Kazan on the screenplay for “Viva Zapata! “, visited the USSR, and has just published “East of Eden”. He prepares for his inevitable heart attack. It will occur in 1959.

Not easy to be in a relationship when notoriety interferes… Benjamin Castaldi will not be able to say the opposite. On the set of Touche not at my post this Thursday, January 27, the columnist confided in how the celebrity had impacted his relationship with Flavie Flament. “I’ll tell you, at the beginning when both are on the rise, it’s very easy! When it’s going well for both: no problem. As soon as there is a little lag, as soon as there is a bit of a slack, that it works less well, there begins to be friction”, told Benjamin Castaldi to Cyril Hanouna. He lived it in a way “terrible” : “In my case it was so strong. Every fortnight, we had four-five front pages… It’s so strong, we get so high and then… Bam”.

“There’s something important, it’s that my grandmother used to say: ‘No longer loving each other, it’s easy, not hating each other, it’s complicated'”, he added, moved. A few weeks ago, Benjamin Castaldi explained that the couple he formed with the host had suffered greatly from their notoriety. “It started to suck, in fact, I think we were caught in a whirlwind of this fame, of success. Flavie was number one at TF1, I was number one on M6. I think that we got eaten by the system honestly”, he analyzed, very honestly. And Matthieu Delormeau adds: “One evening when I was eating at their house, Flavie Flament was mad with anger, because Benjamin had just been poached on TF1 where he was going to have lots of bonuses. I thought she should be super happy for him. She was mad with anger because she saw that a competitor was coming. It was kind of the beginning of the end.”

Benjamin Castaldi and Flavie Flament: this amount they received for their marriage

But this celebrity has sometimes been beneficial to him. In 2002, Benjamin Castaldi and Flavie Flament got married and made a big decision. In order to cover the costs of this great celebration, the two TV hosts have decided to monetize their marriage. “We gave full exclusivity to a magazine called Hola, a Spanish magazine”, remembered Benjamin Castaldi on the set of TPMP open to all a few months ago. Completely transparent about this transaction, he then revealed the staggering sum they had received: 900,000 francs, or just over 135,000 euros. “Everything has been paid in full for the wedding, he confided again. And we also made a significant donation to charity.”

WEDNESDAY night at 9 p.m. on Channel 4, Katie Price started talking.

An hour later, it finally stopped.

Meanwhile ? There was an incessant buzz of psychobabble, egomania, innuendo and self-pity, punctuated by the odd DIY advice. But what did it all mean? I have no idea, because I think you would need a team of behavioral scientists, doctors, and zoologists to get into this girl’s noggin.

I think, however, we can firmly blame Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion on Clarkson’s Farm, an Amazon series that was so brilliant and funny, rival chains are now ready to give just about any celebrity with a few acres of country of spare and a career hiatus their own fly-on-the-wall series.

BBC1 has Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, Charlotte Church is doing something with her Welsh spa on a fringe network and Channel 4 has a ten-bedroom wreck in Sussex that’s almost as flattered by the ‘mucky’ description as Katie is by the words ‘author. , designer and political activist”.

The place is like a** everything. Thieves ransacked the whole goof, Harvey smashed the windows, two dogs and a horse died at the scene, two boyfriends probably fled before the soft rot set in and as Mucky Madam herself put it admitted: “If I walk through this front door it would give me ann-ziety.

Yeah, damn Ann Ziety, the slag.

The place has become a physical expression of all of Katie’s inner turmoil and insecurities, which are vast, because the basic equation at play here is that the more restoration work she gets done, the less she gets done at home. House.

Insofar as Katie now looks like a surprise version of Anneka Rice and it’s often hard to tell if the narrator, James Thornton, and Katie are actually referring to the house or her. “It’s empty, resonant, cold and it needs to be brought back to life. ” (The House.)

“Katie’s plastic boards need to be removed. ” (The House.)

“I need a lot of wood down there. (Certainly Katie.)

The plan now, of course, is to restore one of the old horrors (the house) to its former glory with the help of the usual handymen and random dogs that tend to show up on these shows.

Half the joy, in fact, of Clarkson’s Farm was the brilliance of characters like Kaleb and Gerald, who were given free rein to tear Jeremy a new one, even if you couldn’t always understand a word some of them were saying and they had to be subtitled in German.

Katie, on the other hand, has a long-suffering builder called Steve, who, aside from the moment she dropped a chimney pot on his roof, seems utterly oblivious to the din of cack happening next to him.

Katie hasn’t budged, of course, because she’s too withdrawn and processes a creative urge in the belief that as well as being an “author, designer and political activist”, she also has a touch of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowens about it.

All I can say about it is, as the interior designers say, Katie Price is an excellent serial killer.

The first week, she brought a knife to stuffed animals, which were then brought up to her son Jett’s bedroom. The second week, I guess, she’ll do the same to a few ex-husbands and get them stuffed and up in her own room.

I may not see that happening, because like Steve, I had walked away because the makeover process wasn’t half as interesting as the questions this show raised.

For example, even taking into account her £45,000 appearance fee, how can someone with as much debt as Katie afford all this rebuilding?

Katie now looks like a surprise version of Anneka Rice

And what the hell is she even doing on Channel 4, a public broadcaster whose stated aim is to “represent unheard voices”?

Naively I had thought that the fact that Katie’s My Crazy Life went from Sky Living to Quest Red, before fading away completely, meant that Britain’s most heard voice was about to experience complete darkness and much needed.

Channel 4, however, seems to be in the throes of a horrific midlife crisis, surviving 80s titillation (Breastfeed My Boyfriend, etc.) while regurgitating ideas and scraps from others like Katie Price.

Foolishly, some of its senior employees may also be delighted that the exit from Mucky Mansion coincided with the arrest of Katie, on suspicion of breaching a restraining order, in the belief that it will make them pissed, rather than desperate, applauded and in dire need. of privatization.

Hell, they’re so screwed up they might even consider another series.

“Will Mucky Mansion be Katie Price’s forever home?” the show wondered aloud on Wednesday.

Right now? I’d like to think there’s a better chance it’s Monster Mansion.

A TACTICAL mistake by ITV on Saturday’s edition of The John Bishop Show, where they displayed a ‘Countdown to Trigger Point’ clock at the top of the screen, rather than a ‘Countdown to the end of The John Bishop Show”.

Which is a bit harsh, maybe.

John is no worse at hosting a talk show than, say, the next contest winner and probably a bit better than Davina McCall. But that helped create an unreasonable air of expectation around Trigger Point, which appears to be a perfectly serviceable crime procedural drama overseen by executive producer Jed Mercurio of Line Of Duty fame, who snatched some decent performances from Vicky. McClure and Adrian Lester as two police bomb experts, Lana Washington and Joel Nutkins.

What Trigger Point lacks at the moment is real tension, fully formed characters, alternate locations, background stories, or indeed any story beyond the absolute basics.

An organized terror cell in East London planted three bombs and locked a moaning mobster called Phelan in the trunk of his car. According to the witnesses, they also spoke “English and Arabic,” prompting a question from Washington and likely an overheard shrug from anyone who’s watched Screw or EastEnders recently.

“Do you think it’s Islamist?

What? On TV ? I would round up the local white supremacists first, if I were you. It will probably save you some time.

With this documentary in four episodes, we discover how a 90-year-old lady reigned supreme over American celebrities thanks to her social column page in the “New York Post”.

From “wife of” to “one who knows everything”

She was in her own way one of the most powerful women in the United States. Unknown in France, Cindy Adams, the “queen of gossip” of the American press, now in her nineties, is the subject of a documentary series in four episodes much less light than the subject would suggest. Because through it, it is all the power of the tabloid press that we see emerging. Of course, with her Rolodexes full of phone numbers and her five phone lines, she wasn’t taken quite seriously in her early days, especially since she was first the wife of a famous man and that as such she was only supposed to accompany him to social events, not tell about them. But thanks to the network of her husband, comedian Joey Adams, the former model ends up getting to know all the good New York society and will even, once installed in her post as a journalist, make it a specialty of meeting dictators from around the world. for exclusive interviews.

Kingpin of Rupert Murdoch and Donald Trump

During the first episode, we understand that the success of the American tabloid “New York Post” is largely based on page 6 where the socialite columnist exercised. This daily was bought by the ultra-conservative press magnate Rupert Murdoch in the 1970s and launched into gossip, in the publication of investigations into the morals of the world of politics and sport. It’s not ethical, it’s more or less verified, it hurts those concerned, it doesn’t matter, it sells paper! And this also serves in good part the career of certain personalities, in particular that of a businessman named Donald Trump whose escapades are told by Cindy in detail. And who becomes, thanks to these, little by little a celebrity. As such, the columnist, who has become a friend of the future president, has her share of responsibility in her disastrous rise. As we discover in the 2nd episode, this profitable seam of the tabloid press will be doubled in 1986 with the creation of the television program “A Current Affair”, devoted to entertainment and scandals. Over the years, the influence of the “New York Post” increases but the media magnate must constantly confront or circumvent federal rules on the press. Supported by Richard Johnson and George Rush, in charge of the famous page 6, Cindy Adams, who provides the most spectacular information, becomes more and more powerful. The New Yorker ends up after the death of her husband by becoming a celebrity with in particular her famous huge apartment on Park Avenue and her Yorkshire terrier.

The last survivor

When the “New York Post” finds itself like other daily newspapers in bad financial shape, Rupert Murdoch saves it again. From then on, the best-known society columnists, Liz Smith and Cindy Adams, engaged in fierce competition. Fortunately for them, while the war between tabloids is raging, the Monica Lewinsky affair comes to light. Readers rush to newsstands again. Later, Cindy Adams and the New York Post grapple with another phenomenon: the emergence of social media where gossip travels faster than ever and becomes increasingly intrusive. If the newspapers are gradually losing their readership, Cindy Adams, who says she does not like the word “gossip”, is ultimately the only society columnist of the pre-digital era to do well. Among the tabloids, only the ” New York Post” survives. In contact with her for four episodes, we understand that, without faith or law, she unknowingly foreshadowed the advent of social networks where, like her, anyone can write anything about a celebrity and become one.
