Por ello, el grupo de Citizen Explorers irá acompañado de un equipo profesional formado por investigadores, especialistas en misiones submarinas e historiadores del Titanic. Para la inspección del barco, sus alrededores y la vida marina que habita en el lugar utilizarán la última tecnología de sonar multihaz, escaneo láser y fotogrametría.

The Gist: Every Sunday from September to February, you can turn on your television and see Terry Bradshaw cracking jokes and talking football. In August 2021, though, the NFL Hall of Famer took the stage at Branson, Missouri’s Clay Cooper theater for a four-night run of performances: part comedy show, part concert, part one-man theatrical performance and part confessional. The voice is familiar, and the tone largely is, too, but it veers into something different, and offers a surprisingly interesting spin on the athlete-documentary genre.

What Movies Will It Remind You Of?: In one sense, this is a pretty straightforward concert film, reminiscent of countless comedy or musical specials, with multi-camera shots of a live performance. In another sense, it’s an athlete vanity documentary akin to Tom Brady: Man In The Arena or Russell Westbrook: Passion Play. It’s exceptionally rare to find a film that’s both, though, and Terry Bradshaw: Going Deep is unique in that right.
Performance Worth Watching:Terry Bradshaw: Going Deep is, by design, a one-man show, so of course Bradshaw’s the star. But let’s save some applause for one audience member–a borderline doppelganger of the quarterback–for cracking a few impromptu jokes of his own after being pulled on stage for a bit.
Memorable Dialogue: “Hey man, you from Iowa?”, Bradshaw inquires of an audience member who’s cheered at his mention of the state. “Whaddya think of this electricity?”, he deadpans, gesturing to the indoor lighting, to peals of laughter from the crowd. This exchange is fairly representative of the country-vaudeville kind of humor that his live show trades in. Later, reminiscing on the legendary “Immaculate Reception” touchdown by teammate Franco Harris, Bradshaw recalls, “When I hit the ground and heard the roar of the crowd… I gotta be honest with you, folks, I knew… endorsements were about to come my way.”
Sex and Skin: Listen, this is nothing personal against Terry Bradshaw, but I think even he would understand that I am relieved to report there is no nudity in this.
Our Take: Terry Bradshaw’s been playing a character for more than half a century. From the very beginning, he was sold to football fans as a clueless hick, a “dumb blonde” quarterback who couldn’t find his car after the game. As Dallas Cowboys linebacker “Hollywood” Henderson famously noted before Super Bowl XIII, Bradshaw “couldn’t spell ‘cat’ if you spotted him the ‘c’ and the ‘a’.” The image of a slow-talking southerner slinging passes in the Steel City while flies buzzed around inside his head stuck, but Bradshaw was a star either in spite of it or because of it, winning four Super Bowls in the 1970s.
After retiring, Bradshaw parlayed this persona into a longtime television career, trading in the same kind of blunt, backslapping blue-collar folksiness that made the late John Madden a legend. It’s the kind of career many of his former teammates and rivals would envy, and it’s the kind of career that someone as dumb as Terry Bradshaw–the character–wouldn’t have been able to pull off.
Every famous athlete is playing a character to one degree or another; we think we know these people as they’re beamed into our living rooms every weekend, but in reality we only know a public persona, one that’s often crafted as a protective shell around the real person. Building a career like the one Terry Bradshaw has built often means turning yourself into a cartoon, a caricature of the person you actually are.
It’s clear that Bradshaw harbors some resentment about being saddled with this image, even as he knows it’s made him accessible to viewers, and that duality is on full display in Terry Bradshaw: Going Deep. The show deftly edits together concert footage from his four-night Branson stand with archival game footage and the more traditional athlete-doc confessional interview clips. No single element of the mixture is especially unique, but the interplay reveals something surprisingly poignant. In one shot, Bradshaw’s pulling off Borscht-belt one-liners, and in the next he’s reflecting on whether he truly loved his first wife or his battles with clinical depression. It’s more vulnerable than you might expect going in, and it’s surprisingly effective at humanizing someone we already thought we knew.
To be honest, the singing? It’s not great. Bradshaw actually recorded a series of country and gospel albums in the ‘70s and ‘80s, so he’s not a novice, but The Last Waltz or Springsteen on Broadway this isn’t; it’s the kind of singing you might expect at a theater in Branson, Missouri. That’s ultimately not the point of Terry Bradshaw: Going Deep, though. It’s a variety show with a deeper soul, and it pumps some new life into the tired world of athlete bio-docs.

So when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided to grant him an Honorary Award, it felt like an injustice made right. Jackson received his trophy at the academy’s 12th Governors Awards on Jan. 15, 2022. According to the Oscars website, the Honorary Awards “honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.”
Given how much of an impact Jackson has made on cinema, this recognition is certainly well-deserved. In a statement, academy president David Rubin even named the actor “a cultural icon whose dynamic work has resonated across genres and generations and audiences worldwide.” With the epic reach of Jackson’s success, few other stars can compare to either his recognizability among moviegoers or his box office total.

Of course, Jackson wasn’t the only Hollywood icon to be recognized at the Governors Awards. Three other honorees received trophies at the event. The effects of Episode 2 (“Money Isn’t Everything”) are still echoing through high society in this week’s installment of The Gilded Age. Mrs. Fane and Mrs. Morris, the chairs of the charity bazaar, were thoroughly humiliated after George Russell swooped in, buying everything he could in an effort to shut down the event after the women rejected his wife Bertha’s offer to hold the event in their ballroom. In doing so, George, established himself as a player in society in an “all press is good press” kind of way – he may not have made any friends, but he certainly made a name for himself. You don’t want to mess with George Russell.
Unfortunately for George, his attempts to have a vote passed that would allow him to build a new train station aren’t going as planned. Though he had the support of the city’s aldermen, all of whom secretly invested in his railway, it seems their votes have been rescinded. George confronts Mr. Morris, an alderman and the man whose wife George humiliated at the charity event, and Mr. Morris politely explains that the public doesn’t favor a new train station after all. But George calls him and the rest of the aldermen out for selling their shares after making a profit, taking what they wanted and leaving George without the station he needs. George correctly predicts that once the aldermen sell their shares, they’ll wait until the stock price plummets, and buy them back for pennies. The aldermen’s scheme would destroy George and his company. But don’t sleep on George Russell, the man always has a plan.
At this point in the series, any time anyone does something to one of the Russells, I imagine them quoting those infamous words spoken by Francis Buxton, nemesis to Pee-Wee Herman, and grudge holder extraordinaire.
“You’ll be sorry, Pee-Wee Herman.”
Just replace “Pee-Wee Herman” with “George Morris,” “Mrs. Fine,” or “Everyone descended from the Mayflower” and I think we have it covered.
Ada, Marion, and several other women of their ilk attend a talk given by Clara Barton (Linda Emond) to gain their support for the fledgling American Red Cross. At the talk, Ada is greeted Cornelius Eckhard III (Bill Irwin), a former acquaintance who wants to rekindle a friendship with her. When Marion tells Aunt Agnes about their run-in with Mr. Eckhard, Agnes scalds with a sick burn, asking “So, all this time he’s dreamed of seeing There is again?” to which Ada meeps, “There’s no need to be unkind.”
In that moment, Agnes’s son Oscar enters, telling his mother that he plans to dine with the Russells that night. “When you say those words, you stab me in the side,” Agnes says, and I admit, I LOLed at this line delivery. But Oscar, who clearly has an arsenal of diss track lyrics toward Agnes at the ready, tells his mother, “Well, it’s lucky you have the skin of a rhinoceros.”
At Oscar’s dinner with the Russells, it’s clear that Gladys Russell, a young woman who – it has been said numerous times already – has not had her official coming out into society yet, is desperate to be, well, visible to men. The two make conversation under the very watchful eye of Mrs. Russell who definitely has her own plans for her daughter. And speaking of plans, after dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Russell get ready for bed and discuss Mr. Russell’s plan that might just destroy the aldermen who crossed him. Mrs. Russell reiterates to him that he should spare no expense to destroy the enemy, because he’s made one fortune already, and she’s certain he can make another. Mr. Russell is turned on my his wife’s unwavering loyalty to revenge, and the two make sweet love in their bedchamber. (Did you all think that the camera might pan to Ms. Turner, the maid, watching them with a scowl from behind a floor-to-ceiling curtain? I definitely did.)
Oscar is as talented with his long game as he is with his quick wit. As we’ve seen from the pilot episode he, the only van Rhijn heir, is a closeted gay man, in a relationship with John Adams, heir to the former presidents. He will be expected to marry, and he tells his boyfriend that he’s found the perfect bride in Gladys. She’s filthy rich, and innocent enough to never suspect him, if and when he carries on his relationship with John outside of marriage. John takes a long, hesitant drag off his cigarette which seems to say “I do not like this plan one bit, not one bit.”
As the aldermen sell off their stock on Russell Consolidated Trust, George Russell’s plan is to buy up every share they sell. It will temporarily cost him, but it will ensure that none of the aldermen will be able to buy back their own shares, leaving them at a loss. When Mr. Morris learns what George is doing, he realizes that if George’s plan works, it will leave George richer than ever while the aldermen will lose a fortune. In Mr. Morris’s case, his entire fortune. Realizing his family’s money and reputation are on the line, he instructs his wife to grovel at the feet of her mortal enemy, Mrs. Russell. When Mrs. Morris arrives at the Russell’s begging for mercy, Mrs. Russell coolly tells her that she has nothing to give someone who has given her nothing. “Have you granted me a favor that merits a return? No. I hesitate to teach the basics, but life is like a bank account. You cannot write a check without first making a deposit.”
Peggy, meanwhile, gets exciting news that the Christian Advocate is interested in publishing her short stories. When she turns up at their offices to meet the editor, however, she’s made to wait for hours because racism is alive and well in 2022 1882 New York, and when she is finally speaks to him, he tells her that she would have to conceal her race and the fact that she wrote the stories. Their southern readers would revolt if they knew a Black woman wrote for the paper. She refuses the offer but is conflicted about the decision.
Also conflicted is Marion, who receives a marriage proposal from Mr. Raikes. She knows her Aunt Agnes disapproves, and Mr. Raikes does too. But he has his heart set on her, and after receiving his proposal, it seems Marion has a newfound soft spot for him, too. Marion has a strong will and just may defy her aunt’s wishes, but her poor Aunt Ada will never get such a chance.

When Ada’s new crush, Mr. Eckhard joins Agnes and Ada for tea, Agnes corners Mr. Eckhard about his intentions with Ada. Agnes, who has declared before that she “is never wrong” knows that Eckhard sees Ada as a meal ticket, in fact, he once called her that in a bar many years ago when he courted her as a younger man. Having never forgotten that, Agnes tells him she’s on to him, and he sees himself out.
Mr. Morris, realizing that this game of one-upmanship, greed, and status that everyone has been playing, desperately pleads with Mr. Russell to show mercy. On his knees, stripped of his dignity, he begs Mr. Russell to reverse course. He and the rest of the aldermen have congregated in Mr. Russell’s office to apologize for, well, trying to ruin him financially. Mr. Russell offers them his pity but not his mercy. He explains that it’s one thing to try to destroy his business, but he will not stand around while these men’s wives try to humiliate Mrs. Russell. It’s time to face the music, he tells them, before sending them away as ruined men.
Realizing his family’s fate, Mr. Morris returns to his home, tells his wife he loves her, and retreats upstairs to kill himself.

In that moment, Agnes’s son Oscar enters, telling his mother that he plans to dine with the Russells that night. “When you say those words, you stab me in the side,” Agnes says, and I admit, I LOLed at this line delivery. Mr. Russell is turned on my his wife’s unwavering loyalty to revenge, and the two make sweet love in their bedchamber. (Did you all think that the camera might pan to Ms. Turner, the maid, watching them with a scowl from behind a floor-to-ceiling curtain? I definitely did.)
Oscar is as talented with his long game as he is with his quick wit. As we’ve seen from the pilot episode he, the only van Rhijn heir, is a closeted gay man, in a relationship with John Adams, heir to the former presidents. He will be expected to marry, and he tells his boyfriend that he’s found the perfect bride in Gladys. She’s filthy rich, and innocent enough to never suspect him, if and when he carries on his relationship with John outside of marriage. John takes a long, hesitant drag off his cigarette which seems to say “I do not like this plan one bit, not one bit.”
As the aldermen sell off their stock on Russell Consolidated Trust, George Russell’s plan is to buy up every share they sell. It will temporarily cost him, but it will ensure that none of the aldermen will be able to buy back their own shares, leaving them at a loss. When Mr. Morris learns what George is doing, he realizes that if George’s plan works, it will leave George richer than ever while the aldermen will lose a fortune. In Mr. Morris’s case, his entire fortune. Realizing his family’s money and reputation are on the line, he instructs his wife to grovel at the feet of her mortal enemy, Mrs. Russell. When Mrs. Morris arrives at the Russell’s begging for mercy, Mrs. Russell coolly tells her that she has nothing to give someone who has given her nothing. “Have you granted me a favor that merits a return? No. I hesitate to teach the basics, but life is like a bank account. You cannot write a check without first making a deposit.”
Peggy, meanwhile, gets exciting news that the Christian Advocate is interested in publishing her short stories. When she turns up at their offices to meet the editor, however, she’s made to wait for hours because racism is alive and well in 2022 1882 New York, and when she is finally speaks to him, he tells her that she would have to conceal her race and the fact that she wrote the stories. Their southern readers would revolt if they knew a Black woman wrote for the paper. She refuses the offer but is conflicted about the decision.
Also conflicted is Marion, who receives a marriage proposal from Mr. Raikes. She knows her Aunt Agnes disapproves, and Mr. Raikes does too. Marion has a strong will and just may defy her aunt’s wishes, but her poor Aunt Ada will never get such a chance.

When Ada’s new crush, Mr. Eckhard joins Agnes and Ada for tea, Agnes corners Mr. Eckhard about his intentions with Ada. Agnes, who has declared before that she “is never wrong” knows that Eckhard sees Ada as a meal ticket, in fact, he once called her that in a bar many years ago when he courted her as a younger man. Having never forgotten that, Agnes tells him she’s on to him, and he sees himself out.
Mr. Morris, realizing that this game of one-upmanship, greed, and status that everyone has been playing, desperately pleads with Mr. Russell to show mercy. On his knees, stripped of his dignity, he begs Mr. Russell to reverse course. He and the rest of the aldermen have congregated in Mr. Russell’s office to apologize for, well, trying to ruin him financially. Mr. Russell offers them his pity but not his mercy. He explains that it’s one thing to try to destroy his business, but he will not stand around while these men’s wives try to humiliate Mrs. Russell. It’s time to face the music, he tells them, before sending them away as ruined men.
Realizing his family’s fate, Mr. Morris returns to his home, tells his wife he loves her, and retreats upstairs to kill himself.

IFC Midnight and Shudder have closed a multi-territory deal for “She Will,” a psychological horror directed by artist and filmmaker Charlotte Colbert.
The film is a gothic fairy tale about Veronica Ghent who after a double mastectomy, goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse Desi. There, she discovers that the process of such surgery opens up questions about her very existence, leading her to start to question and confront past traumas. The two develop an unlikely bond as mysterious forces give Veronica the power to enact revenge within her dreams.
“She Will” has been a hit on the festival circuit. It won the Golden Leopard for Best First Film at Locarno Film Festival and was in the official selection at the London Film Festival, Sitges, Fantastic Fest and Thessaloniki.
“She Will” stars Alice Krige (“Sleepwalkers”), Kota Eberhardt (“Dark Phoenix”), Rupert Everett (“My Best Friend’s Wedding”), Amy Manson (“Spencer”), Jonathan Aris (“The Death of Stalin”) and Malcolm McDowell (“A Clockwork Orange”). The film was produced by Jessica Malik and Bob Last and written by Kitty Percy and Colbert. Ed Pressman, Dario Argento, Sam Pressman, Ed Clarke, Sam Cryer, Hannah Leader, Thorsten Schumacher and Sara Woodhatch were executive producers.

Sema is a 10-year-old animated African superhero whose powers include creativity and innovation. She uses technology to solve challenges in her community alongside her brother, MB. Together, they work to stop the villain, an AI robot named Tobor.
“African children need to see themselves represented on TV, on media,” said Clara Njeru, head of production at Kukua, the company behind “Super Sema.”
“Super Sema” is Africa’s first animated superhero series for children. It premiered in partnership with YouTube Originals on International Women’s Day in March. According to Njeru, the show had 15 million views within the first four weeks, and half of their viewership comes from outside of Africa.
The series also has the support of Hollywood powerhouse and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o. She is a shareholder, executive director, and voice of the character Mama Dunia, a wise source of knowledge for Sema and MB.
“She’s been an inspiration to us,” said Njeru of the Kenyan actress, who is also featured on the team’s inspirational wall of African women.
Representation on screen
Njeru has been “technovating” her way through glass ceilings since she was young. “My mom is a teacher, and I grew up in a family that really encouraged curiosity,” she said.
As a child in Kenya, Njeru did not have a computer at home — but in high school, her proficiency in math gave her access to the school’s computers. She then studied computer science at university, where she said she felt a heightened pressure to do well as a woman studying STEM.
She believes she succeeded because of her upbringing. “I had role models,” Njeru said. “I think being brought up by my mother and my grandmother, who are very strong women, that really influenced who I’ve become.”
In 2016, she joined the team at Kukua to bring strong female role models to the screen. Kukua is an “edu-tainment” production company based in Nairobi. The team, led by women, breaks barriers in an industry that remains disproportionately male and white. The show itself also challenges gender stereotypes that are common in children’s television.
“When I was young, there was almost no animated content that was relatable to me,” said Njeru. “We know now there’s a big advantage for children to see themselves represented.”
For season two, Njeru hopes that Sema will continue to show children that they can be and do anything.
“There’s very few role models who are Black and who are in science or technology, engineering, arts and math and there’s also very few who are African,” said Njeru. “(At) Kukua, we believe that if you can see it, you can be it.”

The murder ignites a spree of sinister social-media messages, sweeping the students and police into a race against time to uncover the truth behind the school’s dark secrets… and the horrifying meaning of a recurring symbol: a single exclamation mark”.
Directed by John Berardo, the film stars Lochlyn Munro (The Predator, Riverdale), Isabella Gomez (One Day at a Time), Jon Huertas (This is Us), Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), Bart Johnson (High School Musical), and Yancy Butler (Kick-Ass, Drop Zone). Adding to the intensity of the film is the haunting score by composer Alexander Arntzen. Some of Arntzen’s other credits include Beyond the Woods, Wally Got Wasted and A New York Christmas Wedding. Since the music in horror films plays such an interictal role, we spoke to Arntzen more in depth about his Initiation score and why he describes it as a visceral, dark, and frightening sonic experience.
How did you get connected with Initiation? What attracted you to the script?
I got connected with Initiation through John Berardo directly. I have been scoring his projects for over ten years. Very excited to be able to score his first feature. It’s been an incredible collaborative relationship we’ve built together.
How would you describe the Initiation score?
The score for Initiation would be best described as a visceral, dark, and frightening sonic experience. It vacillates between floating unnerving pads and atmospheres to jolting electronic stabs that come out of nowhere. It should lull you into a false sense of security, just to tear that all away at a moment’s notice.
How involved was the film’s director, John Berardo, with the scoring process? Did he have a specific sound/tone he was looking for or were you able to experiment a little more?
Due to the fact that we have collaborated so many times before, we have such a musical short hand. I had already been developing sounds during the development of the project, so by the time we got to scoring it, so much of it was executing what we had already been talking about. That did open us up to being able to have those cool additions that some scores don’t always have since we already had such a clear direction. John very much lets me “do my thing” and then comes in and guides it here and there to make sure everything is lining up to the final vision.
It was recently announced that you are releasing the Initiation score, congrats! Do you have a favorite track from the album? Why does it stand out to you?
Thank you! I would say Track 11, “Reveal”, is my favorite. That one encapsulates the main theme for the film in the most cohesive and cathartic way. I had actually had this theme ready for the film for a number of years before scoring it. So it was to my amazement when after scoring the film the theme still worked perfectly for the film, which is not always the case. Also, this track is during the big reveal of the film, so it brings the gravitas that you need for such a pivotal moment which was awesome to create.
The killer’s weapon of choice in Initiation is a drill and we heard you incorporated that into your score. Can you tell us a little more about this?
I love adding “found sound” in my scores whenever possible. It was first brought to my mind in the score for Atonement with using a typewriter. So it just made since to try to utilize the very sound of terror in the movie as an element in the score. As the killer gets closer, the sound get louder!
Initiation is based off of a short film titled Dembanger, which was also directed by John Berardo and you scored. Did you keep any of the same motifs in Initiation that were used in Dembanger? How are the two scores different?
The score for Dembanger was totally different. There isn’t really the time to develop anything too musically complicated in a short film generally. Also, the plot lines and circumstances have totally changed from one to the other. As I mentioned earlier, I did develop a theme and ideas for the feature before it was properly score through some of the promo materials to secure funding for the feature. But, I started from scratch when it came to the short vs. the feature. Sometimes, I think that is for the best. Sometimes you can get too comfortable sticking with the same thing. It’s more exciting to keep creating new ideas as the ideas evolve over time.
When you were first starting out in the business, you interned for Danny Elfman, assisting with transcribing scores for his concert, “Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton”. When working with such a force as Danny Elfman, what is one thing you learned from him?
I think the main thing I learned working on that project for Danny was to be as meticulous as possible. The details matter. The little things add up over time to make the bigger picture. So you want to make sure every step of the way that you are creating something that is as musically sound as possible so later on you aren’t struggling to fix something that you could have made right from the beginning.
According to your IMDB, you have also worked on a lot of Christmas movies. What are the major differences between scoring a holiday film and a horror film?
Yes I have! Certainly, very different genres. I think the key thing to always remember is what emotions are you trying to invoke in people through the film and in my case the music. So with horror, similar to comedy in many way, you have a very clear goal: scare people. Everything else is secondary. With Christmas movies, generally the main feeling you want to give people is that heartwarming comfortable holiday cheer. Both genres have a lot of traditions to fall back on. Ideally, you take those traditions and try to flip them on their heads wherever possible! Find new ways to say the same thing in a way that connects with the audience, but doesn’t feel like they’ve already heard it somewhere else before.
Is there a director or showrunner that you haven’t gotten to work with yet, that you would like to?
To be honest, I am far more about building relationships with filmmakers from the ground up. Very much like my collaboration with John Berardo, the reward of starting and building your career alongside with someone is an amazing thing to watch and be a part of over the years. Certainly, as a cinephile, I am a huge fan of many directors and show runners, but nothing beats being there day one with your own filmmakers and watching our creative careers grow together in tandem!

I think the main thing I learned working on that project for Danny was to be as meticulous as possible. The details matter. The little things add up over time to make the bigger picture. So you want to make sure every step of the way that you are creating something that is as musically sound as possible so later on you aren’t struggling to fix something that you could have made right from the beginning.
According to your IMDB, you have also worked on a lot of Christmas movies. What are the major differences between scoring a holiday film and a horror film?
Yes I have! Certainly, very different genres. I think the key thing to always remember is what emotions are you trying to invoke in people through the film and in my case the music. So with horror, similar to comedy in many way, you have a very clear goal: scare people. Everything else is secondary. With Christmas movies, generally the main feeling you want to give people is that heartwarming comfortable holiday cheer. Both genres have a lot of traditions to fall back on. Ideally, you take those traditions and try to flip them on their heads wherever possible! Find new ways to say the same thing in a way that connects with the audience, but doesn’t feel like they’ve already heard it somewhere else before.
Is there a director or showrunner that you haven’t gotten to work with yet, that you would like to?
To be honest, I am far more about building relationships with filmmakers from the ground up. Very much like my collaboration with John Berardo, the reward of starting and building your career alongside with someone is an amazing thing to watch and be a part of over the years. Certainly, as a cinephile, I am a huge fan of many directors and show runners, but nothing beats being there day one with your own filmmakers and watching our creative careers grow together in tandem!
