German techno producer and DJ René Pawlowitz was born Frankfurt and moved to Berlin in 2002 when he launched his own label, Soloactrecords. He began releasing his own tracks under the codename Shed and went on to become one of Germany’s most respected producers. Like Head High, her vibe is more housey, and here, with the German singer and DJ Virginia, the atmosphere is sweaty dancefloor, cruising and a lot of TR-909 drum machine!
6 – Etyen & Salwa Jaradat – Galah Waji (EP)
The Palestinian singer born in Beirut Salwa Jaradat and the electronics wizard Etienne, also from Lebanon, come together for the second release of the Thawra Records and Found Sound Nation collab series, presenting their collaborative two-track EP Galah Wajideveloped during the OneBeat Lebanon musical residency, exploring themes of the mother tongue and the use of language and symbols encoded in folklore, as a form of resistance against censorship and oppression.

Cinthie Christl is a producer, DJ, record store owner and head of Berlin-based label 803 Crystal Grooves with over 25 strong years in the dance music industry. In that DJ-Kicksshe connects the joyful and hopeful moods of some of house music’s gods and connects with the new women arriving on the scene and non-binary talent that enriches today’s dance floor ecosystem.
9 – Hiatus Kaiyote – Mood Variant (The Remixes)
Three-time Grammy nominee, Hiatus Kaiyote announces remix album Mood Variant, com Red Room (Nick Hakim Remix) e Get Sun (Georgia Anne Muldrow Remix), which are available from this Friday (6). Mood Variant follows the smashing success of the album that spawned it, the critically acclaimed Mood Valiantwhich was nominated for Best Progressive R’n’B Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.
10 – Royksopp – Deep Mysteries (album)
Anyone who likes electronic music and doesn’t know Röyksopp needs to review their concepts. Eight years after bidding farewell to the traditional album format, the Norwegian duo returns with a sprawling multimedia project whose best material feels like a return to form. the disk Profound Mysteries brings the already well-known grandiose and melodic atmosphere of Röyksopp, which sometimes takes us to a festival dance floor and sometimes throws us into the depths of an icy dungeon in Scandinavia. A beautiful return to start the duo’s 21-year history.
Author of the only book written in Brazil about the history of the DJ and the national electronic scene, journalist and DJ Claudia Assef came into contact with dancefloor music as a child, influenced by her parents, a party-going couple who did not miss nights out in the clubs that swarmed in São Paulo in the 1970s.

For a young band, two years may not play such a role, but for the now 67-year-old Neil Tennant and 67-year-old Chris Low, the current tour could be the last. After all, for the original dates in 2020, they marked it as greatest hits although they released a new album “Hotspot” in January of that year. But even in 2022, they are still in power and at the second concert in a row (the first took place in Milan, Italy), which took place in Vienna’s Gasometer, they proved that live entertainment is more entertaining than ever before.
Bank Austria Halle, as the space in the former gas tank is exactly named, is only slightly larger than Prague’s Forum Karlín, it can hold about three and a half thousand spectators, and even though it was not sold out that evening, only a few fans probably lacked full capacity because it was crowded. Although most of the visitors were fans and fans of 40+, there were quite a lot of younger listeners in the audience, who had a great chance to get to know the band that evening. The Pet Shop Boys really only played hits, which is really an exception for them. Rock fans could blame the fact that it was not the turn of a single single or album delicacy, but since the pair hit the greatest hits directly into the title of the tour, it was to be expected. While a lot of bands play their fairly well-known songs and everyone is waiting for the one biggest hit, PSB definitely doesn’t have that problem. We didn’t see any lengthening of the songs and repetition of the choruses together with the audience to set the time, while Tennnat and Lowe flocked their punches one after the other. During the evening, a total of twenty-seven items were heard, while the most rocky ones could still smile at times when they inadvertently heard text excerpts of otherwise unplayed pieces such as “Discoteca” or “Paninaro”. With such a fast cadence of hits, not all of them could sound completely, the top five (the top two on the stage were completed by a singer / percussionist, singer / keyboardist and singer / percussionist / guitarist), however, left a maximum of several tens of seconds, so it was not just a short mention of songs, but rather about their more intense versions. Therefore, the space was not too much to talk about, Tennant sometimes gave a song with a short story, but the main role was played by music.
As for the accompanying show, the Pet Shop Boys are known for their love of working with original designers and literally able to do from the fart ball. When the first few songs were played in sci-fi doctor’s coats and crazy-looking glasses in front of the big LEDs and among the street lamps, many might have thought that the whole concert would look like this. Then, of course, the LED went up and showed the rest of the stage, other musicians, the second LED area, which was across the entire width of the stage, and several more projection areas. These were used in various ways from epic to completely intimate, when in the final, fan-loved song “Being Boring”, two real lamps on stage complemented many others on the screen. Were there any surprises? Due to the concept of the whole show and the number of hits, there was not much room for them, but the almost acoustic version of “Drunk” pleased, when Tennant grabbed acoustic guitars, Lowe ostentatiously left the stage and we even got a guitar solo from the accompanying musician. At the Pet Shop Boys concert! Everyone, even though it was only the second concert of the tour, was also really relaxed. Tennant clearly enjoyed the audience and couldn’t help but feel Low, who sometimes dropped out of the role, and when his longtime colleague called “What Have I Done to Deserve This?” he spun around the lamp, laughing openly. And people with him. The Pet Shop Boys in Vienna showed a clear overview of how a set full of hits can be managed even at their age and without any nostalgia that could easily creep up on stage.
